· 80% are
Business Owners
· 20% inherited from Parents
· Jobs come from Businesses
Likely hood of becoming wealthy or financially free on a job is less
likely to happen for an individual than through doing his own business or being
a business owner.
The education system currently teaches; go to school,
go to college, get your degree, for the purpose of getting a JOB. Unless it’s
one of the professional ones, that person will work all their life, then at
retirement age can’t retire because of not having enough money to live and make
it. They also have no savings or retirement.
Then we hear some people
say well everybody can’t be a business owner. Being a business owner isn’t for
everybody. Unfortunately many people believe and receive that and struggle
financially for the rest of their lives with one job after another. A survey
states from the age of 18 to 38 most people have had 14 different jobs.
The
education system should teach, go to school to get an education and learn how to
manage your life and do business. Be a business owner and not have to work the
rest of your life for money. Create wealth, which is financial independence for
yourself, family and jobs for people that prefer working as an employee.
Most people when asked what a person needs to do to make a living, their
answer is, "I need to get a JOB”. The correct answer should be, I need a way
that I can Work to make money. Who says the only way to earn a living is by
being an employee on a JOB. Most people only associate Work with a Job or a
place of employment. Actually the definition of job is Work, not a place of
employment. The definition of Work in Webster’s Collegiate dictionary is "an
activity in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or perform something. A
sustained physical or mental effort to overcome obstacles and achieve an
objective or result”.
Why is it that most people especially black Americans
associate Work with being an employee or having a job.
Well, that was one of
the teachings of Slave owners to other Slave owners during America’s slavery
time near and after emancipation proclamation. In the book (The Mis-Education of
the Negro) Author, Carter G. Woodson. Also in the book Ethnic America, it states
that the slave owners taught "Teach the negro how to work but never let him
learn how to take care of himself,Keep him dependent (on us for a JOB) and in
fear and we will never have to be concerned of him running away to freedom or
leaving because he doesn’t know how to make a living without a job. As a result
of that teaching being instilled in Black Americans for generations, today only
3 % of the Black Community are self-employed or business owners, which is the
least amount of any ethnic race in America. Maybe that’s the reason according to
US Census Bureau Statistics the Black Community is the poorest in America. Only
8% percent have incomes over $100,000 a year and 47% earn less than $30,000 per
year.
Now maybe you can understand how some Black Americans like Herman
Cain, a successful Black American Millionaire Businessman/Minister is now
running for the Presidency of the United States of America, talks so different
than the average Black person. What people need is a different way of thinking
or mindset. People need a way to generate their own income rather than waiting
for someone to give them a job. That’s DEPENDENCE. Unfortunately that’s where
most people are today in America. Remember however, the Spirit of America is
Independence. THE ATTITUDE SHOULD BE we don’t need anybody to give us anything,
as it pertains to provision, unless a person is unable to work. God and our
Country called The United States of America have given us the ability to make a
living for ourselves.
Again what people need is a way to make money from
their own effort(Hands) or work. Remember the scriptures say "the hands of the
diligent makes him rich” A JOB as most people see it is something that someone
has to give a person. The problem with that is the person on the receiving end
is Dependent on whether or not the person or company gives it to them. They
might decide not to, THEN WHAT? If someone doesn’t give it to them or the person
can’t find someone who will, Then what? Right now the unemployment rate today is
9-10%. In the black community it’s 16.7%.
The current Government
Administration has a Jobs bill program they are trying to get approved.
Newspaper Headline said "President Obama ASK Congress for 450 billion for jobs”.
Well, He couldn’t get it or better said they didn’t give it to him. Now what? So
then he still is Dependent on whether or not someone gives or approves…The
question is, what if (Congress) doesn’t give the money or approve the bill? Then
what? What about the people who are waiting for the jobs. Should they continue
to wait? Or what? The people that are waiting are Dependent on him or the
Government? That’s not a good position to be in life, Dependent on someone
else’s effort rather than your own.
So WHAT’S
THE SOLUTION?
Doing your own business
The Business of Generating
Our Own Income
